Recent reports from London quoting dispatches from a newspaper in Helsingfors that a pogrom took place in Odessa January 19-20 resulting in 40 Jews killed, is denied in a statement issued by the American bureau of the “Idgescom”, (Jewish Public Committee). A Moscow dispatch or February 2, is cited by the Idgescom denouncing the report as a “contemptible lie”.
