Further efforts are being made to save the unfortunate Jewish refugees in Poland from the decree of expulsion which is now being enforced by the Polish Government, according to information obtained by your correspondent. It is learned that Congressman Nathan D. Perlman, on behalf of the American Jewish Congress, has again conferred with the Polish Ambassador, M. Wrublevsky, and confronted him with recent reports, telling of the expulsion of the Jewish refugees from Poland. It is understood that as a result of this conference, the Poland Ambassador has again cabled his government recommending that more time be granted to the refugees.
Your correspondent also learns that an appeal has been sent by Dr. Stephen S. Wise, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the American Jewish Congress, to Herbert Hoover and other public men who have been of service to Poland and are consequently held in high regard by the Polish Government, asking them to intervene with the Polish Government on behalf of the refugees.
