The Sephardic Jewish policeman, David Behar, who was accused of complicity in the murder of Tewfik Bey, the former Arab police chief, was acquitted of the charge at the court here Thursday. The trial of the other Jews held on the same charge will take place later.

Tewfic Bey was murdered in Jaffa a month ago. Arabs immediately rumored that inasmuch as Tewfic Bey had always been considered an anti-Semite, the Jews were responsible for his assasination. His funeral was the occasion for an attack on Jews by Arabs.
