Dr. R. Travers Herford of the Williams Library, London, last night gave the second of a series of three lectures on the general subject of Pharisaism in the Menorah Summer School, in the auditorium of the Society for the Advance of Judaism. The final lecture in the series will be given Thursday evening, August 2nd, at the same place and will deal with "The Significance of the Pharisees".

At an informal dinner given in honor of Dr. Herford by the Intercollegiate Menorah Association on July 235d, he spoke of his passionate interest in Jewish thought and literature, particularly of the Pharisees.
