The site upon which the famous Mosque of Cmar stands is claimed by the Chief Rabbinate of Palestine as a place even more sacred to the Jew, because, the rabbis assert, it was there that the Temple of Solomon once stood.

This opinion was submitted to the Government Commission on Holy Places sitting to adjudicate the rights of the various communities to the sacred places.

The Arab Executive has launched an attack employing bitter invectives in refuting the Jews’ claim to the site of one of the most important of Mosques in Moslemdom.
