Justice Nathan Bijur is one of the two justices of the Supreme Court recommended by the Bar Association of New York for renomination by both political parties.

The Bar Association in making its selections for the judiciary is ignoring political party lines aiming to promote the election of justices “who will be men of learning and ability, free to enter upon their judicial duties unhampered by political obligations”. While Justice Bijur is a Republican, the other Justice recommended for renomination is Edward J. Cavegan, a democrat.
