One of the chief questions dealt with by the Fourth National Zionist Conference which was concluded August 30 at Temesvar, was the school policy of the government in relation to the Jewish population. The following resolution was adopted:-
“The fourth Conference of the National Zionist Association solemnly protests against the regulations which menace the existence of the Jewish schools, and instructs the Committee to utilize every opportunity of safe-guarding their existence by using all possible lawful means to that end.
“The Conference protests against Jewish students being obliged to write in the schools on Sabbath and on Jewish Festivals. The Conference taking its stand on the principle of liberty for all to engage in study, protests against any introduction of a numerus clausus to limit the number of Jewish students in open or concealed manner.”
