Lithuania Deputies Present Interpellation on Excesses

The Jewish Sejm Deputies Finkelstein Robinson, Garfunkel and Roginsky interpellated the Minister of the Interior at the last meeting of the Sejm regarding the recent excesses participated in mostly by persons in military uniform.

The Jewish deputies asked why the police had been inactive when a synagogue in Poniwierz was set fire to and when in Wilkomir, a man in uniform with drawn sword wounded twenty Jews.

They referred also to the practice lately quite frequent of obliterating signs above Jewish stores by smearing them over with tar. They mentioned also the smashing of the windows of two synagogues in Kowno and of the windows of the Jewish National Council building in the same city.
