Sir Herbert Samuel will lay down his office as High Commissioner for Palestine in April, according to a report from Jerusalem, to the Daily Express where the correspondent says it has been “persistenly stated” that the High Commissioner will retire.

The reason given is that Sir Horbort finds his position untenable because of the cuts of the Palestine budget made recently by the Colonial Office.
