Ninety-two Jewish refugees from the Ukraine, mostly from Kiev and Podol, arrived in Montreal Sunday. They are the first group among the 6,000 refugees the Canadian Government is understood to have indicated its intention of admitting/

The refugees come via Roumania where they spent several years and from where they were ejected, together with thousands of others the Roumanian authorities have evacuated from Bessarabia and other sections of Roumania/.

Some of the arrivals are widows and children whose husbands and parents were murdered during the Ukrainian pogroms.
