Dr. Rudolph I. Coffee, Rabbi of Temple Sinai, Oakland, has been appointed to the State Board of Charities and Correction by Governor F.W. Richardson of California, and has been assigned to the supervision of the State Prison.
Dr. Coffee is the President of the Jewish Committee for Personal Service in State Institutions, and with this new task, will become one of the leading workers in California philanthropic undertakings.
In administering the oath of office to Dr. Coffee, Mr. H.R. Braden, of the State Board of Control, said, “Governor Richard son feels the State is very fortunate in securing the services of so eminent a citizen as Dr. Coffee.
