Announcement is made of the election of Joseph L. Buttenwieser, prominent real estate operator, to the presidency of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies. Mr. Buttenwieser succeeds Arthur Lehman, banker, who has served as president of the Federation for the past three years. The Federation, which is starting its eighth year of activity, last year distributed $3,350,000. to the 91 institutions affiliated with it.
