The bill introduced by the school board which would require Jewish children to study christianity, has failed passage, in the Quebec Legislature. Catholics, who have a large majority in the Legislature, opposed the measure.
The Premier of Quebec has appointed a committee made up of three Catholics, three Protestants and three Jews to study the Jewish school question in Montreal and to submit a report at the next session of the Legislature. The Premier is in favor of separate Jewish schools.
