Commenting upon the anti-Semitic order issued by the Turkish Government, concerning the expulsion of non-Turkish Jews from Turkey, Arthur Brisbane, prominent American journalist, in his column in the New York American of August 1st, made the following statement:

“The Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports that alien Jews are to be expelled from Turkey with one years grace. If Kemal Pasha will read the history of Portugal and Spain and learn what happened to the prosperity, trade and some other things in those countries after the Jews were forced out, he might change his mind about that expelling programme. The ablest Jews went from Spain to Holland. Holand went up, Spain went down.”
