Max, the famous French actor, who is a Roumanian Jew, has been appointed a Chevalier of the Order of the Legion of Honour. The whole of the French Press is enthusiastic about the distinction conferred on the great actor. “L’Eclain”, the chief organ of the French Nationlists, extols Max as the greatest figure on the French stage, and declares that in this case the Cross of the Legion has been deservedly earned.
