A Central Federation for regulating Jewish emigration and colonization is being established here, following on a seriess of conferences of Jewish social workers held under the chairmanship of Dr. Lwowitch, of the O.R.T.

The idea which has led to the formation of the new Federation is that with the closing of the countries of immigration, it is necessary first to ensure a place of colonization before the emigrants are to leave the countries in which they are domiciled.

Reports on the situation were made by Dr. Singalowsky and Mr. Litwak. It was then decided to establish a Society for Emigration and Colonization whose aim should be the opening up of new immigration possibilities for that section of the Jewish population of Eastern Europe which must emigrate. The Society will strive to influence all other organizations which are active in the fields of emigration and colonization.
