Chief Rabbi Bachbout, accompanied by the President of the Jewish Community, visited the High Commissioner here, reports the “Alef Ba”, an Arab paper. The paper states that the Mandatory authorities and the Lebanon Government have agreed to the appointment of Rabbi Bachbout as Chief Rabbi to the Jewish community in Syria.
