The message of Ibn Saud to the Moslem Supreme Council of Palestine, stating that he intends to carry out the scheme of setting up a Confederation of all the Arab countries, is made the subject of an article in the Damascus Arab paper, “Alif Ba”. The paper appeals to the Arab people, warning them not to trust Ibn Saud and reminding them of what happened in the Arabian Peninsula during the great war.

“The Turks oppressed the Arabs of Syria, Palestine and the other Arab countries”, says the paper. “Ibn Saud did not rise to defend his brothers. Hussein revolted against the Turks and helped the British to drive them out of the Arab countries and to achieve independence.

“Ibn Saud has never protested to Great Britain against the intolerable conditions under which the Arabs of Palestine and Syria are living. He has not raised his voice against those who deprive the Arab people of their right to independence and compel them to emigrate from their homes and leave them to the Jews.

“To the Arabs who support Ibn Saud, we give warning!”
