Between the devil and the deep sea, is a phrase, but it fittingly describes the situation in which half a million Jews find themselves in Transylvania, formerly a part of Hungary and now annexed to Roumania.

The Roumanian paper, “Infratirea” today attacks the organ of the Zionists in Transylvania, the “Ujkelet” because it is published in the Hungarian language. The Jews in Transylvania are Hun##rian Irredentists. The Hungarian anti-Semites ##nstantly criticize the Jews in Transylvania, alleging that they abandoned their loyalty to Hungary immediately after the province was annexed to Roumania.

Actually, the “Ujkelet” opposes Hungarian culture, urging the Jews in Transylvania to adopt Hebrew culture.
