In an interview with the Jedda correspondent of “Fata Il Arab” of Damascus, King Ali declared: “I am not demanding the assistance of a foreign nation. If I am obliged to ask for help, I will seek the assistance of the Moslem nations.
“I have requested Ibn Saud to cease the bloodshed-he issued an order to his commanders to cease fighting with peaceful persons, so the situation has improved. I do not deny that the policy of the Hedjazian Government in the past was a long series of mistakes, but I am doing my best to repair those mistakes, and have promised Ibn Saud to fulfill his demands made at the Il Koweit Congress, and to yield some lands which are on the fontiers of Hedjaz and Nejd, but a result has not yet been obtained.”
