A statement published by the South African press, purported to represent the view of the League of Gentiles, declared:
“It was learned today in trade union circles that chairmen of branches and labor bodies have frequently called members to order for introducing anti-Semitism in trade union discussions. It is impossible for the League to come out into the open with its propaganda. but it is not a secret society. Its meetings are held in a building in the centre of the city.”
Members of the League are said to be of opinion that South Africa is already overloaded with a trading class. They declare that “the United States of America and Great Britain have had to take steps to tackle the problem and that South Africa will have to frame rigid rules regarding the admission of alien immigrants.”
