Charles Edwin Fox was elected District Attorney for Philadelphia County by the Common Pleas Judges yesterday by vote of eight to six.

Mr. Fox is the first Jew elected District Attorney here. He is President of the Congregation Rodeph Shalom and of the local Big Brother Association. He is Vice President of the International Big Brother and Sister Assn. and a member of Jewish philanthropic and educational societies. His activities include the vice-presidency of the Pennsylvania Child Labor Association, and presidency of the Board of Managers of Gleen Mills Reform School.
