The low depths to which anti-Semitism in Europe has sunk in its search for an outlet to its abnormal impulses, cannot be better illustrated than by a glance at one of the imbecile outpourings which has appeared, under the heading “The Moral Insanity of the Jews and their Eternal Blood-Bond,” in the Jew-baiting paper “Der Hammer,” whose editor, Theodor Fritsch is being sued in Hamburg for libel by Max Warburg, the well known banker, brother of Felix and Paul Warburg of New York.
Theodor Fritsch tells his readers that the author of this article, which exceeds in idiocy anything produced so far by the deranged brains of Voelkische Jew haters, is “a Bible believing Catholic reader” of the paper. But it is well known that this “Bible believing Catholic reader” is none other than one Adama N. Olschowy, who has distinguished himself in the past for his ability to misquote and distort passages of the Bible in his anti-Semitic contributions to such organs as Alfred Roth’s “Reichssturmfahne” and others.
Herr Fritsch took the pains to write an introduction to Olshowy’s article in which he delivers himself of this piece of wisdom: “Our readers know that we have a different explanation for the moral perversity of the Jews. We see in the Jews the remains of an element criminal, despised and rejected by the ancient civilized nations…As a result of his immoral nature and uncompromising hate for civilized mankind, this dehumanized outcast has created his own teaching which distorts all moral conceptions and stands them on their head…”
There appear to be fine shades of difference, as Herr Fritsch informs us, in the “philosophic” interpretations of the editor and his contributor, but that they are both equally unbalanced is evidenced by such morsels as the following from the pen of Herr Olschowy:
“It is…absolutely impossible for the Jews, except as regards treachery, to contribute anything spiritually great. This fact regarding inborn insanity can be tested and found in the Jews by every mentally normal person…
“And when the Jews declare that their leaders are ‘messengers of God’ they are speaking the truth. They are messengers of their god–Satan.
“The word ‘bond’ in Hebrew is ‘berit’ and means ‘cutting up.’ The insoluble blood bond of the Jews was sealed some 3900 years ago through the medium of Abraham…
“This bond cannot be unsealed in any way and will lose its power only when the Jews will have attained the final fate of this Opfertiere, that is: when they will be torn asunder and cut up…”
Herr Olschowy here quotes the New Testament (Hebrews 3, 11) and predicts that there will soon take place “wars among the Jews all over the world” and that “being children of Satan, the demoralizer, they shall not enter into eternal rest.”
