Permanent Mandates Commission Holds Extraordinary Session in Rome to Consider Syrian Situation

An extraordinary session of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations was opened here this morning.

A detailed memorandum concerning the situation in Syria was submitted to the Commission by the French Colonial Office. A petition of the Syrio-Palestine Committee was also submitted to the commission.

The petition of the Syrio-Palestine Committee states the views of the Palestine Arabs and the Egyptians, demanding that France abandon its mandate over Syria. M. Decaix represents France on the commission. Dr. Victor Jacobson, political representative of the Zionist Executive, arrived here today.
