Rishon L’zion Gives Freedom of Township to Reuben Brainin

Reuben Brainin, well known Hebrew writer of America, was given the freedom of the township of Rishon L’Zion, one of the oldest Jewish colonies in Palestine, at a public reception accorded the guest on his visit there.

The municipality offered Mr. Brainin a building lot, in order that he might settle in Rishon L’Zion.

Mr. Herman Strauss of St. Louis. Mo., contributed $10,000 for the construction of a chapel at the Leo N. Levi Memorial Hospital in memory of his brother, G. Strauss, who was the chairman of the Board of Managers of the Hospital and one of the leading citizens of Hot Springs, Ark.
