The Dickstein Kosher Bill for the District of Columbia was passed by the House despite opposition on the ground that the existing general laws against fraud and false pretenses covers Kosher violations and that the Kosher Bill is superfluous. Congressman Dickstein stated that the present general laws are ineffective to protect Kosher meat consumers. The Bill now goes to the Senate for action.
