Sentences of five years at hard labor were imposed by the Leipsig court on Reinhardt and Kirsten, leaders of a gang which conspired to bomb the Great Synagogue of Leipsig. The counsel for the accused declared that the case would be appealed.

The conspiracy to destroy the Great Synagogue in Leipsig was discovered by the police in November 18 of last year, in time to prevent the plan being carried out. Members of the radical anti-Semitic organizations belonging to the Right party planned to destroy the synagogue by bombing it. They postponed carrying out the plan until foreign passports would be secured. In the meantime the police learned of the plot and arrested two of the conspirators.
