A change in the headdress of Palestine Arabs from the Oriental Tarbush to the western hat will come about if the Palestine Arabs will adhere to a decision taken yesterday at a meeting of Moslem and Christian Arab notables in Palestine.

At the gathering, speakers pointed out that there is no objection in the Moslem law to the wearing of hats and that the tarbush is not an Arab national headdress.

The contract for the erection of the $50,000 Beth Israel synagogue in Portland. Ore, has been awarded. Construction will begin next month.
