Mayor Walker Honorary Chairman of Hakoah Banquet Committee

Mayor James J. Walker, Senator Royal S. Copeland, Mrs. Alfred E. Smith and Mayor W. Freeland Kendrick of Philadelphia, have accepted the honorary chairmanship of the dinner being tendered the Hakoah soccer team at the Hotel Pennsylvania on June 1, on the eve of the team’s departure from the United States.

Many prominent Jewish citizens have joined a committee to make the banquet a noteworthy gathering and an adequate expression of New York Jewry’s appreciation of the Hakoah.

The Committee which will tender the dinner has been enlarged by the members of the reception committees in New York, Brooklyn, Newark, N. J., Philadelphia, Chicago and St. Louis. Among them are:

Jacob Rabinovitz, Boston merchant and Zionist, was tendered a dinner on the eve of his departure for Palestine. Two hundred and fifty persons attended the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Rabinovitz will spend several months in Palestine.
