No agreement could be reached as to the election of a new caliph for the Moslem world at the Caliphate Congress which ended here after several days of fruitless discussion.
All the delegates were agreed on one point: the essential qualifications which the new Caliph must possess. These qualifications exclude any of the present Moslem rulers. The majority of the delegates who attended the congress will proceed to Mecca to attend the other caliphate congress which was called by Sultan Ibn Saud, pretender to the caliphate. This congress will take place in June.
