In connection with the decision of the Council of the Jewish Colonization Association to settle 300 new families of colonists in Russia during 1926. for which purpose a sum of $100,000 has been allocated as a first advance. it has been decided to increase the estimates for the settlement per family in order to enable the colonists to acquire all the necessary livestock and to build their homes.
In accordance with the new estimate each family will receive two horses instead of one, twice as many cows as was originally arranged for, and a much larger stock of implements and other inventory. After the first year all colonists will be able to have their own houses. The necessary supplementary estimates have already been voted by the Ica. The 300 new families are being settled on land entirely under the direction of the Ica and situated close to the old Jewish colonies in the districts of Mariupol and Saporojie.

Among the ninety who received the degree of doctor of medicine at the annual commencement exercises of the Long Island College Hospital, thirty nine are Jewish.
The exhibition of the Beraiel Art School of Palestine was opened at the Hotel Morrison in Chicago yesterday. Prof, Boris Shatz, founder of the school, is in charge of the exhibition which will be held until June 20.
