Increase in Palestine Immigration Certicates for April-sept. Period

Besides the 2,500 immigration certificates which the High Commissioner has decided to allot immediately to the Palestine Zionist Executive on account of the half yearly Immigration Schedule April-September, the Government will be prepared to consider applications made by the Executive before the end of June for additional certificates for issue during the period in question, it was learned here.

In accordance with the representations of the Palestine Zionist Executive, it is understood that the Government is content to leave to the discretion of the Executive the allocation of the certificates as between skilled and unskilled laborers.

The Zionist Society for Iraq has nontied the Palestine Zionist Executive that more than 70 Jewish families have applied for permission to proceed to and settle in Palestine.

The majority of these applicants have relatives in Palestine and are in possession of modest means ranging from £E.50 to £E.200 per family. The Executive has been asked to forward a number of certificates for these immigrants.

Congregation Beth Israel, the oldest congregation in Hartford. Conn., celebrated its fif### anniversary of its synagogue which was dedicated in 1876.
