A report on the work of the Committee for the Protection of Emigrant Jews, a French Jewish organization, was submitted to a meeting of the Committee held here. This Committee has been at work for three years. In the course of 1925, 5,454 persons applied to the Committee for assistance, and 2,926 were registered; 38 per cent of these came from Poland, 13 per cent from Russia, 25 per cent from Austria, 13 per cent from Roumania and 11 per cent from other countries, the report stated. According to professions, 61 per cent were workers, 14 per cent students and 26 per cent of other professions. The majority were young people. Of the total number of 5,454 who applied to the Committee for aid, 1,582 were placed in employment.
