Much surprise at anti-Semitic propaganda carried on by the branch of the Red Cross in Slovakia was expressed by Jewish leaders here.

The branch of the Red Cross in Munkacz distributed throughout Slovakia a great number of leaflets and brochures designed to combat the consumption of alcohol and urging the population to abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages.

The leaflets contain anti-Semitic charges stating that “the Jews are the only ones who are responsible for diseasing the people by alcohol. They hate work and seek light gain by the sale of alcohol.”

Many of the brochures and leaflets were distributed among school children
