Czernowitz Police Raid Jewish Labor Organizations; No Reason Given

The Jewish labor club of this city was searched by the police last night. Many workers were arrested and documents were seized. It is understood that the search was ordered by the military authorities.

A search was also made by the political police at the Poale Zion kitchen where fifteen persons were arrested. The police also raided the office of the Hias, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, where two refugees, Korman and Trachtenberg. were arrested. Trachtenberg was recently released from the Jassy prison after serving fourteen months.

The reason for the arrests has not been made known.

The United Palestine Appeal Campaign in Baltimore, Md.. will be conducted from Nov. 8 to Dec. 12. Dr. Harry Friendenwald is Honorary Chairman of the Campaign and H. L. Caplan, Campaign Chairman.

Mrs. Joseph Goldman is Chairman of the Hadassah division.
