JUDGE LEWIS INSTALLED AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF UNITED PALESTINE APPEAL

Judge William M. Lewis of Philadelphia was installed as National Chairman of the United Palestine Appeal Wednesday night at a dinner given in his honor at the Hotel Astor. The dinner was attended by the leaders of the Zionist movement in this country.

“Heartiest good wishes to my friend Judge Lewis on assuming the leadership of the greatest effort American Jewry has made for the National Home. Our responsibilities in Palestine are great and serious but are equaled by opportunities for development in every direction I have confidence in the devotion and wisdom of Judge Lewis who will be supported by a faithful army of workers including Dr. Stephen S. Wise, Judge Julian W. Mack, Louis Lipsky and the other officers. Am coming. Place my services at his disposal.”

A message was also read by the toastmaster from Dr. Stephen S. Wise who was Chairman of the Appeal last yare and is now Honorary Chairman.
