Czernowitz Jewish Pupils Punished for Protesting Unfair Examinations

The twenty Jewish pupils arrested for participating in a demonstration against the Baccalaureate examinations, the Roumanian method of applying the numerus clausus, will be punished, according to a decision of the Roumanian Ministry of Education.

According to the decision, which was made following an investigation of the case, those Jewish pupils who have not completed their studies in the high schools will be expelled for two years; those who have already completed their studies will lose the right to enter Roumanian universities for two years.
