The representation of the Jewish population in the Hungarian Senate was secured by law, when the Parliament yesterday afternoon adopted the fourth section of the bill concerning the organization of the upper house.
According to the provisions of this bill the Jewish population is to be represented by two rabbis elected to the Senatorship for life.
The motion which was made by the Jewish deputy, Paul Sandor, was unanimously adopted. Count Bethlen commented on the vote stating that he was unwilling to yield to the demands of the anti-Semites who insisted upon giving only one seat to the Jewish population.
