Roumanian Students Demand Numerus Nullus at Jassy Congress

A resolution demanding the introduction of a numerus nullus barring Jewish students from the Roumanian universities and colleges was unanimously adopted at the Roumanian Students’ Congress which opened here yesterday under the chairmanship of Alexander Cuza.

A strong military detachment patrolled the city in order to prevent anti-Jewish excesses on the part of the students.

Five thousand students are participating in the Congress. On their way to Jassy, the students mistreated a number of Jewish passengers in the trains, Several Jewish passengers were injured, among them the brothers Chaimovitch.

At the Medical College of the University of Bucharest, excesses against the Jewish students were committed. The Jewish students were ejected from the lecture hall.
