How the back-to-the-land movement in Soviet Russia is rapidly making progress and changing the structure of Jewish life, is demonstrated by the figures pertaining to this development in White Russia.
While in pre-war times only 3 per cent of the Jewish population in White Russia were settled on the land, occupying an area of 13,000 desiatin, at present the Jewish land workers number six or seven per cent of the Jewish population and occupy an area of 42,000 desiatin.
In the White Russian Agricultural Academy in Horky a chair for the history of Jewish agricultural work was established.
