Sapiro Libel Suit Against Henry Ford Opens Monday

The $1,000,000 libel suit against the “Dearborn Independent and Henry Ford by Aaron Sapiro of Chicago, will be opened next Monday. A motion to strike out certain paragraphs of the plaintiff’s plea was heard here yesterday in the Federal court.

Leading the counsel for Henry Ford is Senator James A. Reed of Missouri. Judge Robert B. Marx of Chicago heads the attorneys representing Sapiro.

Judge Raymond took the pleadings yesterday under advisement. Besides hundreds of depositions, at least 500 witnesses will be heard in the trial of the suit. Ford’s lawyers stated to the Court that they will produce 250 witnesses. An equal number will testify on the plaintiff’s side, it was indicated.
