The Palestine government has no intention of establishing an English language university, college, or degree giving institution in Palestine, Col. Leopold H. Amery, Colonial Secretary, declared in reply to a question by Col. Josiah Wedgwood, Labor M. P. The question was caused by a recent report to the effect that such plans were contemplated.

The Secretary further stated, replying to another question from Col. Wedgwood, that the Palestine government has no intention of constructing a railway joining Port Fuad, the new Egyptian port, with the Palestine railways.

At the same session. Commander Kenworthy asked the Colonial Office whether it intends to remove the Haifa immigration quarantine to a healthier site.

The secretary replied that the High Commissioner’s report states that no more suitable or healthier site can be found for the quarantine. Commander Kenworthy then exclaimed: “I visited it last year and it is the most disgusting place in all our dominions!”
