The League of Shomerei Sabbath has made representations to the Athens League of Nations Union asking it to intervene with the authorities to abolish the Compulsory Sunday Closing Law, which compels the Jews to keep their shops closed two days during the week, thus seriously injuring the business interests of thousands of Jews.

M. Ruyssen, of the International Union of League of Nations Societies, is expected in Salonica shortly. The League of Shomerei Sabbath will send a delegation to M. Ruyssen with a view to urging him to raise the question of Sunday closing in Salonica at the next meeting of the International Union of League of Nations Societies.
