Alarming reports circulated by the United Press agency concerning an alleged panic among the orange growers of Palestine were denied here today on the basis of authoritative information.
The United Press reported that the orange growers had lost the amount of £300,000 due to falling prices. There is no foundation for this report.
Mr. Kasteliansky, economic adviser to the Zionist Organization, stated to the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here that although it was true that the price of oranges fell last month, it is also true that the market has since risen and there is no panic nor cessation in the extension of the plantations. Palestine orange growers expect satisfactory results, he declared.
