A mock trial of Tel Aviv, its economic, cultural and architectural aspects, will be held shortly at Tel Aviv. The proceeds will go to the cultural institutions of the town.

The economic situation in Tel Aviv is still serious and the revenue from several sources is constantly decreasing, Mr. Lerner, director of the Finance Department, stated in his report on the financial situation submitted to the Tel Aviv Municipal Council.

The future, he said, still causes anxiety and further economics are necessary. There is however a decided improvement. The revenue of the Municipality during the last three months was as follows: In January £E4,900; in February £E6,080; and in March £E6,140.

There are at present 84 employees in the Municipality with a total monthly salary of £E1,170, while in December there were 116 employees receiving £E1,600 monthly.

A census recently taken by the police in Tel Aviv shows that 2,000 rooms are vacant out of a total of 21,000 rooms in the city.

“Flower Day” in New York will be conducted on June 12 and 13, according to an enouncement by the Jewish National Fund council of Hadassah, which is to sponsor the event.

About 3,000 boys and girls will sell boutonnieres of forget-me-nots in the streets and subways, in department stores and office buildings.
