A new administration for the Independent Order Brith Abraham was elected at the concluding session of the forty-first annual convention of the Order in session here. Max Silverstein, New York attorney, was unanimously chosen Grand Master, following the refusal of Judge Gustave Hartman to be a candidate for reelection. The convention also accepted a resolution asking the membership to contribute toward the Red Cross Fund for the Mississippi flood victims.
M. L. Hollander was reelected Grand Secretary of the Order. The other officers elected are Congressman Nathan D. Perhman, First Deputy Grand Master; Abraham Weinstein, Second Deputy Grand Master; Samuel Blazenstein, Third; Louis Slutzky. Fourth; Louis O. Sobel, Fifth; Samuel Eskin, Sixth; William Bleich, Seventh; Max well Suls, Eighth; Jacoh Zuckerman, Ninth; Samuel Brown. Tenth; George I. Itelman, Eleventh; and Dr. Meyer Kopfstein, Twelfth.
Alex Goldberg was elected Treasurer, William Laken, Trustee; William Eckman, Chairman of Finance; Julius Steinfeld, Chairman of Endowment, and Adolph Teitelbain, Endowment Treasurer. The Chairman of Law chosen was Abraham Kanter; Chairman of Appeals, Samuel Goldstein; Chairman of State of Order, Louis Gottlieb; Chairman of Printing. Sholon. Appel; Chairman of Rituals, Jacob Daniels; Chairman of Supplies, Hyman Brown; Disability Chairman, George O. Arkin; Treasurer of Disability, Elizabeth Blume. Jacob Weinberger was chosen counsel to the order and Harry J. Socolow, chairman of membership.
The creation of a Jewish archive for the collection of all documents relating to the history of the Jews in Poland and the establishment of a permanent Jewish community museum was decided upon by the Kehillah of Warsaw.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
