Senator Bacelli, former Minister of Education, who recently returned from a visit to Palestine, publishes an article in the curent issue of the periodical “Echi e Commenti,” in which he expresses himself as faver as the Jewish upbuilding work in Palestine.

“The efforts made by the Jews to revive their ancient fatherland,” he writes, “must be welcomed by all people whose heart and brain are their own. All great ideas appear in the beginning to be Utopian, but the power of the great idea overcomes all difficulties. That is the case also with the idea of Jewish upbuilding in Palestine.”

Senator Bacelli gives a description of the town of Tel-Aviv, and concludes that its existence justifies all the hopes of the Zionists for the development of Palestine.

Sofia, July 2.–Prime Minister Liapcheff granted an audience to Dr. Mibachan, the delegate of the Keren Hayesod headquarters, accompanied by Dr. Rarhi, President of the Bulgarian Zionist Federation.

The Minister expressed his sympathetic interest in the work of upbuilding Palestine. He promised to give all the necessary facilities to the Zionist delegate to carry out his mission in Bulgaria.
