To Raise a Fund for Earthquake Victims

Charles V. Vickery, president of the International Near East Relief Association, who is here in connection with “Golden-Rule Sunday,” has been approached by the Acting High Commissioner, Col. Symes Mr. Vickery is cabling New York, suggesting joint action between the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Near East Relief Association, the Zionist Organization, and the Red Cross, for a small fund required for the first stages of the relief and reconstruction.

Incorporation papers were refused the American Anti-Bible Society by Supreme Court Justice Thomas C. T. Crain. The society has announced its intention of pressing a decision of its rights on constitutional grounds.

The papers which the society submitted to Justice Craln Wednesday were returned with the notation over the Justice’s signature, “I refuse to approve of the evil purpose of this proposed incorporation.”

The Hadassah delegates to the Zionist Congress here left for Basle, Switzerland. The Hadassah representatives include Mr. Irma Lindheim, Miss Henrietta Szold. Mrs. Archibald Silverman. Mrs. Nima H. Adlerblum. Miss Sarah Kitay. Mrs. Frieda Silbert Ullian. Mrs. Rose Blondheim, Mrs. Max Blumberg. Mrs. A. D. Burack, Mrs. Harry P. Fierst, Miss Lillian Franklin, Miss Pearl Frankln. Mrs Lewis Goldberg, Miss Ida Greenberg. Mrs. Joseph Horowitz, Mrs. Cyrus Levinthal, Miss Fanny B. Smith and Mrs. George Wyner.
