James Loeb Celebrates His Sixtieth Birthday

The entire press, many scolars and prominent leaders join in felicitations to James Loeb on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.

James Loeb was formerly a member of Kuhn Loeb & Company. For the last twenty years he has lived on his estate in Bavaria. He is highly esteemed as an artist, a scholar and a philanthropist.

The Professors of the University of Munich, from which Mr. Loeb holds an honorary doctorate, presented him with an address in Latin on the occasion of his birthday.

James Loeb was born in New York City August 6, 1867. He retired from active participation in the firm Kuhn Loeb & Company in 1901. He was the founder of the Institute of Musical Art in New York and the Loeb Classical Library, an inclusive edition of Greek and Latin works in English.

Mrs. Morris Loeb, a sister in law of James Loeb, resides in New York. She is the widow of the late Prof. Morris Loeb, a brother of James Loeb.
