The sentiments of the Jewish community in Moscow were embodied in a telegram addressed to the Grand Rabbi of France by Albert Fuchs, president of the Moscow Kehillah, and Drs. Vermel and Urison, members of the Kehillah board. The telegram reads:
“The Jewish community of Moscow expresses its satisfaction with the verdict of French conscience on the brigand, Petlura. French justice has inscribed on the tablets of history the verdict of civilized mankind on the pogromist who draped himself in the toga of a Ukrainian national hero.”
